Come join us as we gather with mission leaders from churches across our city to explore increasing our participation and effectiveness in the Great Commission globally. Whether you are a pastor, committee member, mission trip leader, or simply have a heart for engaging the world, your voice is a crucial part of the conversation.
 
We believe that the 21st Century offers unique challenges and opportunities for the local church to be on the forefront of global mission impact. For over a year, a group of churches have been meeting together to listen and learn from each other about our role in the world. We will be sharing lessons learned, best practices, strategies, and guiding principles that are foundational for effective mission engagement.

Come to this workshop to determine where you currently are in your mission strategy using partnerships and how to get where you want to be.

If your church is like most of ours, chances are you are regularly presented with opportunities to partner with missionaries serving all around the globe. But, how do you make the difficult decisions about who to support? And, once you choose, how do you care for those you send? Join us as we explore the challenges and opportunities in sending long-term missionaries.

Collaborators

David Bass
David and his wife served for 14 years, along with their five children, in the Muslim world where, in addition to church planting, he also trained missionary team leaders. He is currently the Global Outreach Pastor at Carmel Baptist Church in Matthews, NC. David holds an M.Div. in International Church planting from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Jon Freeman
Jon currently serves as Missional Outreach Pastor at Carmel Baptist Church and co-leads the SE Regional Network of For Charlotte. Over the last 21 years in ministry in the USA and around the world, Jon has leveraged his MBA and Master of Theology as a pastor, missions leader, business for transformation practitioner, and occasional seminary professor. Jon has been married for 17 years to his wife, Kim, and they have 5 children.

Tammy Medders
Tammy brings 24 years of church experience with her. She has held numerous roles within the church, including her current role as Director of Outreach. Tammy has been on staff at Church at Charlotte for 11 years with a 2 year period spent in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia doing ministry with street girls and training local church leaders. She has a deep desire to see the US church understand it's role and ministry in the Global church.

Andy Muhich
Andy Muhich has been Missions Pastor at Lake Forest Church in Lake Norman for 4 years. Andy’s passion is to engage and empower others as they discover and live out their own role in God’s mission. Andy also co-leads the For Charlotte North Network. Andy has a BS from Davidson College and an M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Charlotte.

Tom Mullis
Tom has been in multiple full-time global missions roles for the last 26 years.  He served for 9 years on a church planting team in Bangkok, Thailand, 12 years as the Global Outreach Director for Perimeter Church (Atlanta, GA), and the last 5 years as the Director of Global Partnerships for United World Mission.  Tom has a passion for facilitating local to global church engagement in the mission of God, and has been privileged to do so in 6 continents with travel in over 60 countries.  He holds degrees in Sociology, Missions, and Theology.  

Alison Reilley
Alison is the GoGlobal Coordinator at Forest Hill Church. Before moving to Charlotte, Alison spent several years serving as a missionary in South Africa, where she founded a nonprofit that helped students from impoverished communities get into college. Now that she has experienced sending and receiving short-term mission teams, Alison is passionate about helping churches to create effective mission trips that utilize the skills of their team and empower the local community.

Laura Snow
Laura has served as the Director of GoGlobal at Forest Hill Church for the last 12 years. Prior to this, she enjoyed a 20 year career in the airline industry where she had the privilege of traveling the world. Laura and her family lived short term in the Dominican Republic and are engaged in the Hispanic community here in Charlotte. Laura has a deep desire to help both churches and global partners become more effective with short term missions. She is the mother of 5 sons, both biological and adopted.
