Colombia August 2018- Fort Mill
Welcome to the August 2018 Forest Hill Colombia Trip page!
Our group from Forest Hill Church Fort Mill will be traveling to Colombia to work with South America Mission (SAM), a Forest Hill AIM Partner that has been working to see the Church of Jesus Christ multiplied and transforming communities in South America for more than a century. SAM’s missionary community and partners work to share the gospel, reproduce authentic disciples of Jesus, plant churches, train leaders and equip God’s people to minister transformationally.
Trip Focus:
Alongside our church global partner, South American Mission, we will support Foundation Comunidad Viva and Ciudad Corazon located in an urban outreach environment in Bogota. Our team will spend the first half of the week serving kids and youth during an annual spiritual retreat of their house church movement at a retreat center outside of Bogota. The second half of the week will be spent doing community projects in Bogota, which may include serving with locals working on improvement projects for orphan ministry facilities, community center improvements, and neighborhood garden projects. Most importantly, we will have the opportunity to share in the love of Jesus through the building of relationships. This trip will be led by Alexa Steverson and team meetings will be held in the Fort Mill area.
Being able to speak Spanish isn't a requirement, but is recommended for this trip.

FHC & SAM Liability Waivers Required

Background Check Required

A new background check is required for all trip participants.
Requirements
Prerequisites
- Must have a valid passport that does not expire before February 24, 2019
- Trip Participants must be 18 years or older
Preparation
- Apply for the trip and pay the non-refundable $110 deposit
- Fill out the forms and upload your passport under the Forms tab
- Create personalized trip page
- Check the CDC website for updated information on recommended immunizations http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/
- Commit to attending 6-8 team meetings, including the debrief meeting after the trip returns
- Participate in at least 1 local serve project with your team
- Make sure 100% of all trip fees are submitted 10 days prior to departure
