Welcome to the March 2018 Forest Hill Colombia Trip page!

Our group from Forest Hill Church Fort Mill will be traveling to Colombia to work with South America Mission (SAM), a Forest Hill AIM Partner that has been working to see the Church of Jesus Christ multiplied and transforming communities in South America for more than a century. SAM’s missionary community and partners work to share the gospel, reproduce authentic disciples of Jesus, plant churches, train leaders and equip God’s people to minister transformationally.

Trip Focus:

The fastest-growing house church in the Bogota Ciudad Corazon Movement is made up mainly by pre-teens who have grown and come to faith together through the ministry of the Alturo family and the Community Center that they run with Fundacion Comunidad Viva   The team will help provide for them a two night camping experience in one of the great locations around Bogota.  The purpose of this camping experience is to build cohesion, character and have an ideal timeframe to engage in deep teaching and prayer.  After camping, the team will have three more days to engage with these young people within the context of the Community Center activities.  The team will also help Fundacion Comunidad Viva open up a new community center and a skills training program for youth exiting foster care.  Some of the volunteers of the Community Center are young adults who have aged out of the foster care system and are now part of the CUEVA program of Fundacion Comunidad Viva, so the team will have the opportunity to invest in them as well and be inspired by the circumstances surrounding this population.

SAM engages local church partners in the US to “go” and engage in ways that help accomplish the Mission’s purposes. As people participate in short-term teams, they also enter a cross-cultural discipleship context that brings significant life change, to the glory of God. We welcome you to join this short-term team or donate to enable this important ministry for others. This team will be lead by Jorge Enciso and will be focused on working with youth.

**This trip will be forming with leadership from the Fort Mill campus and team meetings will be held in the Fort Mill area.
