Fort Mill - Colombia August 2017
Welcome to the August 2017 Forest Hill Colombia Trip page!
Our group from Forest Hill Church Fort Mill will be traveling to Colombia to work with South America Mission (SAM), a Forest Hill AIM Partner that has been working to see the Church of Jesus Christ multiplied and transforming communities in South America for more than a century. SAM’s missionary community and partners work to share the gospel, reproduce authentic disciples of Jesus, plant churches, train leaders and equip God’s people to minister transformationally.
Trip Focus:
Alongside our church global partner, South American Mission, we will support Foundation Comunidad Viva and Ciudad Corazon located in an urban outreach environment in Bogota. Our team will serve with locals working on improvement projects for orphan ministry facilities, community center improvements, and neighborhood garden projects. We will also facilitate a children’s ministry project. Most importantly, we will have the opportunity to share in the love of Jesus through the building of relationships. This trip will be forming with leadership from the Fort Mill campus and team meetings will be held in the Fort Mill area.

FHC Liability Waiver Required
The FHC liability waiver must be completed for every trip, regardless of past participation.
Background Check Required
Before you complete a new form - If you have traveled on a recent trip, or currently volunteer in the FHC Kids ministry, please email [email protected] so that we may verify if we have a valid background already on file.
SAM Waiver Form Required
The SAM liability waiver must be completed for every trip, regardless of past participation. This form will need to be notarized.
3 Colored Copies of Valid Passport Required
Before you submit a copy of your passport - If you have traveled on a recent trip, please email [email protected] and we will verify if we have a copy of a valid passport already on file.
Requirements
Prerequisites
- Must have a valid passport that does not expire before February 12, 2018
- Trip Participant must be 18 years or older
Preparation
- Apply for the trip and pay the $110 non-refundable deposit
- Fill out paperwork under the Forms tab
- Create personalized trip page
- Check the CDC website for updated information on recommended immunizations http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/
- Read the trip-specific book chosen by the trip leaders
- Commit to attending 6-8 team meetings, including the debrief meeting after the trip returns
- Participate in at least 1 local serve project with your team
- Make sure 100% of all trip fees are submitted 10 days prior to departure
