Iglesia Esperanza is in Santa Marta, Colombia and the pastor is Julio Pinzon. On my first mission trip to Colombia in March of 2014, Pastor Julio and his two sons (Felipe and Cesar) accompanied us to Riohacha. We went door-to-door witnessing and I was on Equipo Julio (Team Julio) with his son, Felipe, who acted as one of our interpreters. The Colombian people were incredibly friendly and we were invited into almost every home whose door we knocked on. One man, Jose, was our first house visited and he said "it is no accident you are here today" and shared a story of his sick sister before he accepted Christ... it was an amazing experience.
Anyway, I could go on but I wanted to give you a little taste of just what a neat guy Pastor Julio is and his family. I've been on three trips to Colombia and each one has included at least a visit to Santa Marta and Iglesia Esperanza, Pastor Julio's church. One of the pictures below is of the street signs next to his church, Calle 24 and Carrera 2. But that's another story...
