From Grace to Glory (Part 2 of 2)

(Make sure to read Part 1 for more insight on our amazing journey)

The focus on youth was clearly a recurring theme yesterday as we were visited by none other than Shorty. If you haven’t watched Reparando, you should. =) It is a brief documentary on La Limonada and the events that have led to it’s current state. Shorty is featured in this documentary and is a testament to the power of Gods transforming grace. A former hardened criminal and gang member, Shorty has turned his life to God and to fighting the battle daily for the youth of La Limonada. Not only did he come to the Academy (thanks to the diligent requests of one of our group) but he joined us for dinner. He came in force with a gaggle of gorgeous children he cares for. He shared his Salvation story and brought us into his world. The effect was a sight to see as we closed our time with Shorty by laying hands on him and lifting him in prayer. Many in our group overcome with emotion from what he had shared, succumbing to beautiful tears as they cried out to God for protection and provision for Shorty. He is a gift to the youth of Guatemala City and a clear example of how Gods grace can bring us to the glorious conviction to do His work.

The truth is that I could sit here all day and expand on the experiences I‘ve shared. I could sit here all day tomorrow and tell you of the many other experiences we had. There is not enough room in any blog to fully cover what we’ve seen at work here. You need to come and experience it for yourself. You need to see with your own eyes the glorious work Gods grace is doing in the most unlikely of places. It is a wondrous sight to see……

For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The Lord always keeps his promises; He is gracious in all He does.
Psalm 145:13
