Why do I go for Christ?

First, I go because God tells me to go. Matthew 28:19 says "therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Second, I go because it strengthens my personal faith. And third, I go because there are many whose spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak--I GO BECAUSE I CAN!!
This will be my fifth overseas mission trip (four with Forest Hill and one with Habitat for Humanity) and every one has been a blessing. I do not know yet who I have touched in these foreign lands, but that's OK. David Chadwick tells us that we are merely the salespeople and God is the manager.
I like going to minister with the Wayuu people in the Guajira desert because I see a thirst in them for the Good News. To see young people travel many miles in harsh conditions to learn how to become a minister, it makes my own trials pale in comparison. I always come home wanting to do more and humbled in my own faith.
