Wow, another amazing day serving this community!!
We had a full day in the dental clinic, seeing both teachers and and students from 8-5. Our dentist have been amazing! They've worked every minute of the day, squeezing in as many people as possible! They have been so sweet and kind to even the most fearful of little ones! These long days would not have run as smoothly without the help of 2 local dental students, Mandi and Monica! They are truely a gift from God, helping us interpret, educate, and assist with procedures!
Today was our last day making house visits with nurse Janina's. We were able to team up with a physical therapist that was also visiting the area and saw patients together. What's even more amazing is that the therapist is from Waxhaw, NC... small world! We were reminded today about the JOY we have in Christ. Even in a community that is so broken and seems to have no hope, we can bring the light and joy of Jesus to them.

As you pray for our team, also pray for the continued healing of this community. We have learned more and more about this country's history and recent civil war that lead to the creation La Limonada. We've started to understand the generations of brokenness and poverty from watching the documentary Reparando. It gives a better look into La Limonada's history, but also showcases the ways that God has worked to restore this area.

As we finished up our long day and move into our last full day here, our hearts are heavy for the brokenness and hurt in this area. We mourn with kids that have lost a parent, with moms that have lost children to violence, with people who have no hope and turn to drugs. We see them, we pray, and we place our hope in Jesus. With him all things are possible.
