Our last full day here in Guatemala was one to remember! We started the day off by joining the academies on an end of school year field trip. The Guatemalan schools take a "summer" break from November to January, so this has been the last weeks of school for them. To celebrate, we went to a nearby church that puts on a kids program with fun songs, videos, playgrounds, and even a chance to swing at a piñata. We were all struck by the opportunity for these kids to actually be normal kids. They live in such poverty and violence that they don't get the chance to get candy out of a piñata and play around outside in a safe place. To watch them enjoy their celebration was so fun for our team!

After the morning field trip, we continued with our dental clinics. For the majority of the afternoon we had a whole room full of kids waiting to be seen! Our dentists worked hard to see each one before our week was done!

Tonight we had a special dinner celebrating some of the people that have helped us the most during our week here in Guatemala. Our host Lizza has been our lifeline this week! She's been with us every minute of our time here and we can't thank her enough. We also celebrated our dental students and medical interpreter...without them we could not have done or said anything!!

Tonight we also had the chance to meet Shorty. Shorty is a gangster turned minister with a heart for active gang members. He has a unbelievable childhood full of gang violence, prison time, drug use, and abuse, BUT God has turned his life around and is using him as a light to La Limonada.

As we wrap our last day, we have full hearts seeing all that God is doing in this community. There might be a lot of brokenness, but we have seen God's redemption and grace on display!

Thank you all again for your support and prayer! We have felt them all week!!
